Running Accomplishments:

Once beat Cheryl at the Hobble Creek Half Marathon about three years ago, and kept up with Peggy for 100m four years ago. Completion of 52 marathons to date.

I enjoy the marathon distance. It demands consistency in training and provides a constant goal to work towards. Could not run without the support of my great family and friends.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy would be the number one goal. To accomplish this long-term feat I need to cross-train and add strength training into the mix.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Someday I would like to qualify for Boston although at the moment it seems very tough!

Personal:

Love running, music, art, food, friends and family in no particular order it just depends on the day.

The day started out fairly wet but the rain stopped early into our run. It ended up being perfect weather for as tough as a workout as we did. Cheryl planned a very competitive workout on a very hilly course which ended up being a ton of fun! I was pretty beat-up at the end and did not feel guilty eating pumpkin pie and ice cream.

I have been running hilly courses quite often and it seems to be paying off. I guess it is true what they say, "Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger."

Great job today. I'm glad you thought it was fun. I wonder if everyone felt that way. I definitely thought it was fun. I like your new picture. Where is it? It looks like the road to nowhere, the best place to run. Keep up running those hills and I think great things are in store for you next racing season.

Cheryl, I thought it was a good day of running as well. The hills were great and I like the competition. The photo is of the South end of the Jordan River Trail in Midvale. It reminds me of running in Arizona with all the sage brush.

Love the picture Eric!! That's my home turf!! The only thing that I don't like about that portion of the trail is the "no drinking fountains" aspect. Still love it though ... especially seeing all the wildlife (deer, beaver, foxes, etc.).

btw, Nice Run!!

Wow, I didn't recognize that as part of the Jr. Parkway trail. I thought it was somewhere out in the desert. I'll have to be more observant next time I run there.

Teena, I love the portion of the trail too. It is perfect for a quick 5K and then refueling at Gardner Village. I believe it is one of the more groomed trails in the valley. You are lucky to live so close.
