Running Accomplishments:

Once beat Cheryl at the Hobble Creek Half Marathon about three years ago, and kept up with Peggy for 100m four years ago. Completion of 52 marathons to date.

I enjoy the marathon distance. It demands consistency in training and provides a constant goal to work towards. Could not run without the support of my great family and friends.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy would be the number one goal. To accomplish this long-term feat I need to cross-train and add strength training into the mix.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Someday I would like to qualify for Boston although at the moment it seems very tough!

Personal:

Love running, music, art, food, friends and family in no particular order it just depends on the day.

Very nice afternoon. I took at the temperature and it read a balmy 40 degrees so I put on some gloves and headed out. Felt very strong today and was able to run uphill with my time under 9:30 per mile, downhill was an even 7:00 mile. My legs are feeling stronger but have got to improve the air intake. Not sure how to accomplish this but it seems that at times the thing holding me back is the amount of air I am able to take in.

Holy crud, you are fast! Seriously, that fast down hill? I might as well roll into a ball and, well, roll!!! Great job!

Kelli, you are very nice. Hey, I went to the my first Pilates class in about five years last evening. The instructor did a series on hip abductors and flexors which I believe is the key to awesome hill and trail running. You might want to try some Pilates while you are resting your knee injury. Let me know what you think.

Don't you have asthma, Eric? Could that be part of the air intake problem?

I have a pilates series at home. I had not thought of that, although I have been doing yoga. I will get them out!

Peggy, yes, I have exercise induced asthma. I have been prescribed inhalers but have only used them when I have had problems. I probably ought to call Dr. Tom and see if I could use them before runs. That would help a a lot!

I seem to always have that issue. Either my breathing seems fine and my legs feel weak, or vice versa. It would be nice to get them both to feel really strong at the same time, haven't quite figured that out yet.
