Running Accomplishments:

Once beat Cheryl at the Hobble Creek Half Marathon about three years ago, and kept up with Peggy for 100m four years ago. Completion of 52 marathons to date.

I enjoy the marathon distance. It demands consistency in training and provides a constant goal to work towards. Could not run without the support of my great family and friends.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy would be the number one goal. To accomplish this long-term feat I need to cross-train and add strength training into the mix.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Someday I would like to qualify for Boston although at the moment it seems very tough!

Personal:

Love running, music, art, food, friends and family in no particular order it just depends on the day.

Not much sleep but I had a lot of fun. What a crappy morning, it was so windy and slippery that I was a bit nervous about running. Running group was huge this morning! Several new faces and some old. It was great to run with Cheris, Alan and Kim who were gracious enough to keep my old slow butt company. Ended up with a bit over 9 miles which was fantastic! I love running with these people, they are all addicted to running just like me. It just goes to show that misery really does enjoy company.

Went for a very quick run up the canyon. My goal was not to get passed up by the speed demons that run the hills everyday. I accomplished my goal but not without the price of being dog tired and not being able to feel my legs. By the way, I listened to Sepultura on my ipod which gave me enough motivation to keep going.

Eric,

I can't believe you went out again after this morning! I tried the dreadmill for a couple to get to 9 total, but that was it. The yoga class nearly put me to sleep and I didn't want to get up and run again, but I did...just for its agonizing pleasure :) Which canyon did you run up? I can't believe there are people that still 'run up' canyons everyday in this weather. I guess there are some people out there crazier than me!

Okay, Eric, I totally missed talking to you today!! I hope your run went well. I really needed to push it a little today to see how I could do, and the knee fared okay aside from a little complaining (especially on that lovely downhill by the pool and golf course---good thing that was the end!)

Next week we will have a fine chat! Did you decide to do Painters or not?

I was so sluggish today, and late of course. I am glad that you had a great run and the knee cooperated. I bet you will have a very strong year.

I will not be running Painter's so a few of us will have to plan a nice run close to home. Any thoughts?
