Running Accomplishments:

Once beat Cheryl at the Hobble Creek Half Marathon about three years ago, and kept up with Peggy for 100m four years ago. Completion of 52 marathons to date.

I enjoy the marathon distance. It demands consistency in training and provides a constant goal to work towards. Could not run without the support of my great family and friends.

Short-Term Running Goals:

Stay healthy would be the number one goal. To accomplish this long-term feat I need to cross-train and add strength training into the mix.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Someday I would like to qualify for Boston although at the moment it seems very tough!

Personal:

Love running, music, art, food, friends and family in no particular order it just depends on the day.

Quick run at lunch time. Nice temperature and clear. Was mearly mauled by a dog before the owner got to me. One bite and a couple of licks. It mostly just jumped up on me and put it's paws on my chest and licked me. You never know what the dogs temper will be like. . Man, I hate other people's dogs when they are not on leashed except for the ones that run with our group. Those dogs are cool.

Did it really bite you???

From erico on Wed, Jan 14, 2009 at 15:29:43

Yup, it bit my hand but luckily since I have very poor circulation I was wearing gloves so it didn't bite through. It seemed like a friendly dog, just very excited.

That is it, dang unleashed dogs! Glad you had on gloves of steel!

See you tomorrow!

Glad his bite didn't do any damage. Maybe I'll start bringing my little schnauzer to the group and he can be included in the "cool dog" category. .

Eric, thanks for the 'cool dog' comment that makes me feel better. I hate unleashed dogs as well, there are many in my neighborhood and before I had Lucy they'd always chase the jogging stroller and try to bite the wheels ... thats when I started carying my mace on runs, not for people but animals! Thanks goodness you had gloves on, my sister got bit by a dog on a run and had to go to the e-room to get checked out! Great run even with the dog.
